The Marfa Leaf....

As I was watering the lawn early this morning, I noticed this leaf magically suspended in mid air about a foot from the ground. Obviously there was some sort of filament holding it up, but the neartest overhanging tree branch was 8 feet above and even in the strong sunlight I could not detect any visible means of support. It was rather mesmerizing.....

District Attorney Al Schorre is retiring. I'd known Al for many years before discovering, 4 or 5 years ago, that he grew up with a good friend and fraternity brother of mine. They called Al, "Lucky" when they were kids. Photo taken at Lucky's retirement party.
